Privacy policy

Reading Peptide Zone needs no account and sets no cookies. This page lists everything the site keeps and every outside service that sees a request.

What we store

  • Morning wire waitlist. If you join it, we store your email address and the time you joined. No email is sent yet; the address is kept until you ask us to remove it.
  • Contact messages. The name (optional), email address and message you send through the contact form, with the time it arrived. Messages are deleted after twelve months at the latest.
  • Abuse limits. To stop floods of sign-ups and messages, the server counts recent requests per network address in memory. Those counts are never written to disk and are dropped within an hour.

We do not sell, rent or share these records, and we use them only to run the waitlist and to answer messages. Our own server keeps no log of the pages you read, and story view counts are plain totals with no link to any person.

What stays in your browser

The site uses your browser's local storage, not cookies, for a few conveniences: your light or dark theme, the time of your last visit (so stories filed since then can be marked as new) and whether you have read the current briefing. Staff who sign in also keep a session token there. None of it is sent to us, and clearing your site data removes it.

Outside services that see your requests

  • Cloudflare sits in front of the site and passes every request, including your network address, to our server. It also adds its Web Analytics script, which counts visits without cookies.
  • Google Fonts serves the typefaces, so your browser asks Google's servers for the font files and Google sees that request.

Both handle data under their own privacy policies. The site loads no advertising, social media or tracking scripts beyond these.

Your choices

To remove your waitlist address or a message you sent, or to ask what we hold about you, write to us through the contact form from the same address. We act on requests without asking for a reason. If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
